Job Title

Autonomous Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

This role will work closely with software developers, project managers, and systems engineers to develop plans and procedures and resolve defects.

 

Duties:

  • Improve the quality and reliability of autonomous subsystems, controls and unmanned vehicle behaviors
  • You will be part of a growing team that advances Connected, Conditionally Unmanned and Fully Autonomous technologies for military and commercial sea-going vessels / unmanned surface vessels (USVs).
  • You will play a significant role in evaluating technologies developed both in-house and by others. This position requires prior experience testing hardware.

 

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or must be able to obtain
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience analyzing system requirements and concept of operations documents, acquisition plans, and system descriptions to develop evaluation and test plans and procedures, prepare for and conduct the data collection and analysis, and report status and results.
  • Experience supporting the development of test and evaluation documentation e.g., Test & Evaluation (T&E) Strategy, Test & Evaluation Master Plan, Event Test Plans, Test Readiness Assessments, and T&E Reports
  • Experience defining, testing and supporting integrated hardware and software systems using recognized industry/customer process management.
  • Ability to collaborate with the client and engineering teams to evaluate methods to improve autonomous behaviors using the Government managed autonomy architecture frameworks.
  • Direct experience with U.S. Defense agency, Intelligence Community or signals intelligence activity.
  • Proficiency with respect to defining and tracking test points before, during and after test execution.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills as a member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
  • Prior experience as a government SETA with test and evaluation (T&E) / verification and validation (TEVV) responsibilities for NAVSEA or NAVAIR Desired
  • Experience / qualifying expertise with MBSE using prototype behavioral (analytical or descriptive) models for model-based testing (SysML specific experience preferred).
  • Experience with requirements management, PLM, and PLE toolsets such as Teamcenter, DOORS, etc.
