Essential Responsibilities

  • Manages supplier relationships and oversees all procurement activities for Drill Bits Supply Chain globally
  • Negotiates costs of raw materials with focus on securing best price to meet cost reduction goals
  • Monitors SNOP process and prepares demand signals for suppliers accordingly
  • With minimal oversight, supervises procurement staff to develop and implement best practices ensuring operational excellence
  • Independently prepares presentations
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers
  • Develops and Implements improvements to procurement policies and procedures
  • Monitors Baker Hughes and supplier compliance and performance against established contracts and processes
  • Drives daily use of continuous improvement tools to improve HS&E, quality, delivery, financial performance, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction
  • Handles special projects as assigned, which will be broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity
  • Conducts all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes health, safety and environmental policies, legal compliance requirements and core values


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of procurement, sourcing, or similar experience within supply chain
  • 5+ years' of experience in a lead role with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Exceptional analytical, project management, negotiation, facilitation, and customer service skill
  • Proven experience managing a team
  • In-depth knowledge of purchasing practices, principles, and procedures
  • Facilitates cost reduction initiatives across the procurement organization and root cause corrective action plans to improve quality
  • Detailed knowledge of sourced goods and services, suppliers, and market trends
  • Excellent ability to communicate with internal & external customers and suppliers
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel
  • SAP knowledge and experience
  • 10% business travel

Desired Characteristics

  • 10+ years of procurement, sourcing, or similar experience within supply chain
  • 6+ years of experience in a lead role with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Manufacturing procurement experience a plus
  • Order Management experience a plus
  • Apex Certification, Negotiation training
  • Global Sourcing Experience
