Why would you be looking for a move then? Moving into Q3 2020 when the Corona Virus pandemic (hopefully) is cleared up, and markets see an uptick in activity causing a knock-on effect to project reactivation; I have a client who have asked me to line up a great candidate for this role.
This major subsea client of Leap29 in Stavanger is looking to bring a well experienced Project Technical Manager, or Engineering Manager into their team, to take control of the oversight of several offshore installations, IRM and decommissioning projects.
The correct contractor will match the below job description and be looking for a move when the market kicks off again post Covid-19, with a view to a long-term contract. They will be working for a similar engineering outfit, operating within an offshore focussed project team ideally being North Sea based.
·Work with Tender/Offshore Manager to ensure that work is conducted in a timely manner.
·Lead the engineering team consisting of Engineers, Senior Engineers, subcontractors and/or consultants in projects, tenders or studies daily.
·Delivery of commercially and technically optimised solutions that are aligned with expectations and are fit for purpose.
·Perform engineering tasks according to the Engineering Procedure in a safe and accurate manner.
·Ensure that clients receive sufficient documentation and updated on progress, within given deadlines.
·Develop and seek to improve procedures, schedule, and other project documentation.
·Assist in the planning and execution of marine operations.
·Participate in offshore operations as required as part of the offshore team.
·Share and demonstrate special competence/knowledge with colleagues.
·Liaise with HSEQS to ensure all project/tender specific HSEQS requirements are met and all necessary documentation is completed. In cooperation with Engineering Coordinator and Project Directors; ensure that the project/tender is adequately manned with respect to engineering resources
•Engineering Degree (Masters or Bachelors).
•5 years minimum Project Management experience.
•Greenfield & Brownfield project experience.
•Project cost control management skills.
•Knowledge of both international and local codes, standards and regulations.
Other responsibilities include:
•Manage and coordinate pre-consultations and approvals with regulatory authorities.
•Give technical guidance to the applicable disciplines within the project team.
•Manage risk and initiate mitigating actions, risk reporting to client organization.
•Prepare regular project /report updates.
