The Fiber Project Manager will help develop and scale one of the world's largest and most complex networks. You will be a part of highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling the most challenging problems in Fiber construction. Fiber PM's are always at the forefront of the network construction industry and you will be responsible for network delivery and management of contractors.
·Project management of the delivery of Fiber projects
·Ensure construction standards and installation specifications are followed,
·Perform quality audits of outside plant and inside plant installations
·Understand the metro Fiber market, installation methods and associated risk,
·Interface with key internal stakeholders to obtain their requirements and drive vendors to adhere to these key elements,
·Understand the technical requirements of our engineering teams and ensure the completed project meets these requirements,
·Create detailed network planning packs to build scalable and future proof infrastructure,
·Deep understanding of the fibre construction process and the health and safety requirements,
·Program management, risk mitigation and reporting status reviews to management and internal customers,
·Review handover packages and review Fiber test results (OTDR/ILM/ORL),
·Handle ad-hoc incoming inquiries and problems to ensure the construction programs continue on schedule,
·Creation of project scope and equipment requirements, assist with request for proposals, and capital requests,
·Willing to travel 25-50% of the time.
·Highly technical and analytical, possess over 5 years of network construction management and/or program management experience in a telecom environment,
·Understand the fibre business and have worked on multiple telecom construction programs,
·Strong technical understanding of transport technologies (Fibre, DWDM, etc.),
·Ability to prioritize multiple competing demands to deliver for the customers in a specific time frame,
·Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations,
·Fluent in both English and Japanese.
