SUMMARY: The role of Intermediate Analyst performs routine and non-routine laboratory testing, monitors the performance of the laboratory quality system, and calibrates and maintains analytical laboratory equipment to carry out physical and analytical testing. The role is also responsible for monitoring SQC performance of laboratory instruments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Verify, maintain and operate analytical instrumentation
  • Strong team player focused on the success of the team
  • Suggest and support continual improvement in safety, efficiency and quality
  • Instrument operation and maintenance for the laboratory instrumentation, which includes troubleshooting of instrument problems and instrument applications.
  • Issue analyses results to the client
  • Review and maintain Quality Control (QC) records and other technical data.
  • To document and train others in methodologies as required
  • To evaluate continually the safety of laboratory working conditions and arrange for necessary corrections to be made.
  • Monitoring, measuring, and assessing quality assurance practices and protocols for continual improvement.
  • To carry out the above responsibilities, and all others, which may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to BV and the Client's Safety Quality, Ethics, and Environmental Management System policies and procedures.
  • Some traveling may be required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

 

  • Prefer BS in science or related field
  • Two years' related work experience required
  • Method/instrument verification experience with various lab instruments
  • Experience with customer interactions a plus

 


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to interpret scientific formulas.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
