Position Overview : This role is responsible for preparing budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and opportunities, and reviewing costs and preparing recommendations. Collaboration and building relationships with all departments is key. You will prepare and evaluate business case modeling, have strong communication and financial analysis skills, be responsible for partnering with senior leadership across all functions of the organization to analyze and advise on company decisions related to resource allocation, performance, and operations. In this role, you will be key in identifying and executing financial analyses to continuously optimize business performance.

Directs Reports : Director - Tax & SEC Reporting

Major Duties :
  • Drives process improvement and scalability by developing repeatable business and financial processes
  • Plans, supports, and executes on value added financial and business analyses
  • Maintains and evaluates the Company's financial planning processes, systems, policies, and procedures
  • Develops and advances financial and operational metrics, monitor and measure operating performance against budget and goals, and develop and provide data driven analytics and processes
  • Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency
  • Ensures integration of data produced into systems and supports objectives of financial analysts
  • Participates in annual audits and special projects
  • Reviews P&L and SOP at a consolidated level and a detail level
  • Acts as the accounting liaison to operations
  • Assists operations managers with financial processes and procedures; collaborates with operations managers to complete their budgeting and forecasting processes, including meeting with Executives
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance issues and research
  • Ensures area of responsibility is in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)
  • May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes
  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or other related field
  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Exceptional attention to details with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical and inter-personal skills
  • Advanced technical accounting knowledge, including knowledge and experience with GAAP
  • Prior experience designing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures—in a SOX environment
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

Preferred :
  • Combination of private industry and public accounting experience

Physical Requirements :
  • Long periods of sitting and standing may be necessary
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Working in remote areas requiring the ability to walk some distance

Typical working conditions and hazards :
  • Work is performed in all weather conditions
  • Able to perform duties with protective equipment, H2S respirator where required
  • Potential hazards include working near or with heavy tools and moving machinery
  • Potential exposure to loud noises, airborne toxins, solvents, flammable atmospheres and industrial chemicals
  • Finger agility for keyboarding
