Lead Hydraulic Engineer / Technician - Aberdeen - Leading international Service Company

Eden Scott's client, a reputable market leader in the provision of Hydraulic services to the Oil & Gas, Defence and Marine Industries globally now requires a Lead Hydraulic Engineer to join their expanding Aberdeen operation. This position will be based from their premises in South Aberdeen but with frequent trips offshore and overseas. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Hydraulic Technician or Senior Hydraulic Fitter looking to further develop their career.

As Lead Hydraulic Engineer responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation for offshore work (assisting with proposals, work packs and assisting with the certification of equipment)
  • Carrying out planed and preventative maintenance on Hydraulic Equipment
  • Offshore, working on clients deck equipment (Platform, drilling rig and vessel based)
  • Develop processes and procedures as required to feed into work scopes
  • Liaise with customers to understand their hydraulic requirements - this will include survey work offshore and onshore
  • Overhaul Hydraulic components
  • Installation of Hydraulic equipment

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a senior hydraulic technician position working in the offshore oil & gas or marine industries
  • Excellent Stakeholder management skills - comfortable in a client facing position
  • It is essential that successful candidates hold a Mechancical or Hydraulic HNC / HND and have completed an apprenticeship leading to industry recognised qualifications
  • Experience servicing and repairing offshore and marine equipment
  • Experience working with pumps, motors, cylinders.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft packages
  • Able to travel offshore and overseas as required (Circa 50%)
  • Full UKNS Offshore Certification
  • Happy to based from the Aberdeen office
