Role Summary:

As the Quality Leader for F&PT, you will lead and nurture a global team of Quality professionals, partner with and act as a coach for the rest of the F&PT Leadership Team to design and drive a strategy to strengthen an interdependent culture and improve the business Quality performance. You will report operationally to the Vice President F&PT, based in Houston, Texas and functionally to the Vice President HSE and Quality TPS, based in Florence, Italy.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Engage with F&PT leadership team and drive a sense of shared accountability and continuous improvement in Quality performance and culture by integrating Quality in business decisions, management system and everything we do
  • Define and drive a clear, compelling and effective strategy to improve quality, on time delivery and lead time of product and services that we deliver to our customers; enhance the efficiency and reliability of the relevant processes and systems
  • Drive a compelling sense of urgency across the product line to identify Quality risks associated with operations, reduce and manage them
  • Inspire and lead a global team of quality assurance, quality improvement and lean professionals and team leaders, set high expectations and take accountability for their overall performance, their pace and urgency in implementing Quality improvements
  • Develop a high performing team and an engaging work environment that promotes meritocracy and diversity where everyone is welcome and encouraged to speak up and intervene
  • Identify, attract, retain and nurture key individuals with the critical capabilities needed by the organization
  • Engage and cooperate with the broader Baker Hughes and TPS HSEQ teams to deploy consistent practices and standards globally and accelerate performance improvements in a non-traditional, non-conventional way
  • Take an active and effective stance in representing the company in external industry or community events

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited university in Quality Management, Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of combined experience in operations, quality leadership and teams' leadership
  • Travel internationally up to 35% of her/his time
  • Ability to coach and mentor executive leaders and help them drive cultural changes within their organizations
  • Proven skills in interfacing effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as outside Baker Hughes, including contractors, vendors, customers
  • She/he is a team player, able to create an environment of trust within the team and with the broader organization
  • She/He is always ready and willing to provide and receive feedback to inspire others, improve self and make our improvement programs more effective
  • She/he is a critical thinker, and always seeks for relevant information and intelligence, analyzes and interprets them to produce innovative solutions to problems

Desired Characteristics
  • Knowledge and practice of human and organizational performance principles
  • Knowledge, practices and certifications in Six Sigma and Lean
  • Knowledge and practice of Shainin, Red-X, Apollo problem solving methodology
  • Business Process Reengineering experience in manufacturing and services companies
  • Knowledge and practice of Agile methodology
