We are currently seeking experienced Ballast Control Operator to work a 14/14 schedule located in Deepwater Gulf of Mexico You will serve as a key role with your knowledge and experience in producing systems, the mechanical processes of operating equipment, standard operating procedures as well as identifying tasks, troubleshooting control room related problems/issues, and possess a strong knowledge of operating procedures. You are required to possess a strong working knowledge of ballast control systems and practices along with familiarity of pertinent Federal regulations.

Job Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Transfer ballast/fluids to maintain stability
  • Monitor, operate, and maintain equipment in a safe and environmentally friendly manner
  • Assist with testing and inspection of safety systems and equipment as required by law and customer policy
  • Make rounds to ensure that all equipment is in good operating condition
  • Monitor meters, pressure gauges, variations, and temperatures to ensure proper functioning and operation of equipment
  • Record instrument reading and operational changes in operating logs
  • Collect, record, and maintain data to fulfill State, Federal and company requirements
  • Assist in completing all required paperwork
  • Respond to problems by adjusting control room equipment, and/or follow the instructions from the supervisor while using good judgement and communication
  • Clean, lubricate, maintain, and adjust equipment
  • Actively participate in the Safety Management Systems, Safety Meetings, job planning, JSA development, job permitting, emergency drills, and training according to company and customer requirements
  • Promote and conduct good housekeeping in all areas of the facility
  • Analyze repetitive occurrences and provide technical solutions
  • Take part in the pre-job planning for large projects to aid in making projects more efficient
  • Ability to provide valuable input to the Team Leader, CRO, Lead Operator/PIC, Field Foreman, OIM, and/or Production Foreman, on how to improve the workplace, increase productivity, and performance of other operators in assigned area
  • 1+ years of experience as BCO in the Oil & Gas production industry
  • Must possess and maintain a USCGBCO license
