Apply the principles of accounting in order to prepare timely, accurate financial records in compliance with the company's policies and procedures and related internal controls.
Job Description

DUTIES:
Coordinate with Project Administrator and Rig Accountant to efficiently complete month end closing including booking transactions for cost reclassification, accruals, allocation and deferrals.
Assist Finance Manager to Prepare and review shipyard Monthly material variance overview statement with Project Team.
Assist Finance Manager to prepare Monthly material variance overview statement for Projects Overhead and pools Cost centers.
Prepare Forecasts/Budget Input (currently quarterly) - for Pool & OH cost centers in Forecast system and compile associated presentations for Finance Manager review.
Download, review and reconcile, the Project Costing Pivot table as required and interface with relevant on-site project team to track and monitor project cost progress throughout the project Total event.
Perform monthly reconciliation and analysis of assigned balance sheet accounts.
Assist with review, investigation and compilation of relevant feedback to audit requests (Internal and External).
Assist Finance Manager in conducting regular project cost tracking reviews (with Project Managers and project team).
Assist Finance Manager in reporting projects financial performance
Assist Finance Manager to insure a smooth transition from Projects to Operations with compilation and delivery of a Formal Financial close out report.
Maintain and update various Monthly and quarterly reports.
Maintain Monthly Sarbanes Oxley Control log. Any other Ad hock tasks assigned by Finance Manager

EDUCATION: College educated as a minimum with Associates or bachelor's degree in Accounting.

EXPERIENCE: The preferred candidate would have general business experience with a minimum 2 years accounting work experience preferably in project cost accounting or project administration.

SKILLS:

  • Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge including use of Excel / Pivot tables. Experience of Visio is also preferred.
  • Strong aptitude for existing Company systems and how they interact
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills - position requires the ability to work on various priority tasks simultaneously and complete them efficiently
  • Ability to take the initiative and work on tasks both individually and as part of a fast-paced team
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to meet deadlines


INGENUITY: Must be proactive to identify and solve problem related to projects accounting. Self-motivated to perform responsibilities with little supervision.

DECISION MAKING: Routinely making decisions according to the definition of authority

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: May be required to travel to shipyard locations.
