We are seeking a Crisis Communication Coordinator to lead the Corporate Communication Department in preparing and delivering items to protect the reputation of the company.
Your primary role will be to support the department's activities during any incidents or issues. In addition to supporting other departments within the company in crisis communication planning, training and emergency response activities.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, journalism, crisis management or related field.
You will have 10+ years in a communication role with background in crisis communication.
You will have served in leadership positions in crisis communication organizations focusing on leadership and organization in companies such as Shell, ADNOC, BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Total, or Halliburton.
Have a proven record of managing communication during crisis events in the oil and gas industry.
Have experience in developing crisis communication strategies to support the Corporate Communication Department's goals and objectives.
Have a strong background in media relations, serving as a spokesperson.
Have experience in emergency response/crisis management development and training.
Understand national and international issues and how they can affect the industry.
Have the ability to identify, assess and take action against communication and reputation related issues.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Prepare communications as needed during an incident or threat to the Company's brand.
Stay informed of industry best practices and share current issues and trends around crisis management and enterprise risk.
Be on-call to respond to incidents or issues that have the potential to damage the Company's reputation.
Ensure that the Communications Response Center and News Monitoring Rooms are running and updated with current technology and equipment.
Support Corporate Affairs (CA) strategic initiatives by developing, maintaining and testing effective plans.
Conduct training sessions on dealing with the media, safety programs and mentoring staff on public relations theory and implementation.
Prepare and lead monthly crisis communication training and drills.
Support other departments in training staff.
Represent CA during any emergency response plan development or corporate drills.
Provide support to other corporate organizations as needed in emergency response activities.
Update the CCD Crisis Communications Manual monthly and prepare copies for management quarterly.
Assist Corporate Affairs and other organizations with their Crisis Communications manuals and training.
Have excellent reading and writing skills in English.
