Our client, is one of the leading National EPC & Maintenance Contractor in the Oil & Gas industry based in Qatar and are looking for an experience Project Control Manager to join their team.
Jobs at this level provide planning, progress and cost control services to a large project, or across a range of multiple smaller projects. They are experienced in their own discipline and have some working knowledge across other disciplines related to project execution. They have direct impact into the planning and organizational issues across their assigned authority and into the decision making of the Project Management team.
Provide technical input and assistance at the tender stage to ensure cost and lead times are realistic and achievable.
Coordinate and obtain necessary information/ data and reports for the preparation of Construction Schedule to the level of detail deemed appropriate.
Review and assess necessary documents and reports for the preparation of Chart of Accounts & subsequent Project Budget.
Liaise with relevant staff in own section, and ensure effective implementation of planning, cost control and budgeting functions in assigned project/ site.
Advise and agree with Weight Factor Calculations for preparation and implementation of progress monitoring system.
Provide Accounts section with cost allocations to enable the issuance of cost reports
Review cost reports and monitoring data, checking accuracy and integrity, comparing actual spending vs. budget and if necessary, manage any variations and implement subsequent remedial action.
Carry out periodic visits to site to keep up to data with progress, checking the implementation of plans, providing troubleshooting support of technical guidance as necessary to Project Management to resolve issued.
Qualification / Experience
B.Sc. in relevant Engineering discipline.
MBA/ PMP or similar post-graduate qualification highly desired
Minimum 10 years' experience across multiple projects involving in depth knowledge of engineering disciplines.
Extensive knowledge of EPC projects in Oil & Gas industry should cover both site and office work
Proven track record of operating as Head of Section/ Lead Engineer/ Construction Manager or similar role
Commercial and cost awareness
Well-developed presentation and negotiation skills
Excellent communication skills; fluent English.
Excellent administrative/organizational skills
Good working knowledge of PRIMAVERA system
Self-confidence and ability to contribute/ influence Project Management Team
Ability to multi-task across multiple small projects
Excellent leadership skills and natural decision maker
Knowledge of accounting systems and terminology and cost awareness principles
Advanced interpersonal skills with confidence to negotiate effectively with third parties.
Good supervisory skills.
