My client in Basingstoke are recruiting for an Application Support/Web Developer on a 6 month (potentially rolling) contract.

" Provide Application support & Web Development as directed by the Senior Developer
" Gather user requirements and analysis
" Design and document new solutions as required by the business users
" Develop and Prototype new and mainly web based, intranet solutions
" Produce operational documentation
" Produce technical specifications
" Provide support, problem solving and bug fixing for existing systems
" Provide any other application support or development tasks as required or directed by the Senior Developer

Skills and Experiences:
" Must have previous experience working in an application support / web development environment
" Must have experience of Grails, along with knowledge of spring and Hibernate
" Must have a thorough and in-depth working knowledge of all Microsoft office / desktop products
" Experience working with Javascript / JQuery, HTML and CSS.
" Familiarity with an IDE (preference IntelliJ)
" Experience of MS SQL Server database, including DB Design and Management
" Good understanding of software source control, preferably Git
" Experience using Software development tools and practices
" Excellent customer facing skills
" Good working knowledge of Microsoft products in general
" Ability to work alone and un-supervised
" Ability to work as part of a small team, work under pressure
