Job Description

We're seeking a response expert with incident experience who can make sure we develop and deliver highly effective emergency management. This is an exciting opportunity for you to grow and progress globally or across business, working with different cultures and backgrounds.

What's the role?

As Senior Response Specialist, you'll play a vital role, ensuring we respond effectively, speedily and safely across oil and chemical spill emergencies. That means, developing and supporting our regional response capability, and driving improvements where necessary.

We see you as someone who will be a confident core member of the regional team, ensuring your colleagues stay focussed on what happens when incidents occur. You'll provide guidance and support for the emergency response teams, helping them to develop and update response plans as well as emergency assessments. You'll also offer direct oil and chemical spill support and expertise when it's needed and facilitate incident management training.

More specifically, you'll be involved in:

 

 

  • Developing personnel within the framework of the Incident Command System o achieve and maintain a high degree of preparedness for oil and chemical spill Emergency Response
  • Acting as a regional focal point for large scale regional exercises and support central and business response teams in planning and delivery of exercises
  • Providing technical guidance on vessel related issues
  • Identifying equipment, facilities and personnel needed for oil and chemical spill Emergency Response
  • Your strong communication skills will be essential to the role. Alongside your support and expertise, you'll help to train teams and develop engagement strategies, nurturing close collaboration across a range of internal and external stakeholders, from Global Emergency Management and Legal, to government and environmental groups.

Requirements

We're keen to speak from passionate individuals with excellent engagement, leadership, organizational and communication skills and capabilities - working with a variety of internal and external customers and stakeholders.

Along with your Bachelor's degree, we naturally expect you to have experience of working in oil and chemical spill emergency response and incident management.

As many of the following as possible:

 

 

 

 

  • Experience in Vessel Emergency Response having held a senior role onboard a vessel.
  • Experience building and developing an Incident Command System (ICS) organization and responding to incidents/exercises in ICS roles.
  • Experience conducting Tier 3 response exercises.
  • Experience building and developing organizational capability and competence in oil spill response management.
  • Experience in Adult Education would be considered an asset.
