We are looking for Fluids Technical Specialist Team Lead
This is a senior level leader role in the technical areas of Drilling and Completion Fluids and Drilling Waste in AGT reporting to the Global Wells Organization (GWO) Fluids Manager
The role holder will support operations in project planning, execution, contractor management and technology implementation in accordance with standards
The incumbent will coordinate the Regional direction of the services with the assistance of the GWO Engineering Management to a Regionally agreed strategy which requires coordination with other Functions in support of the well construction activitiesKey Accountabilities:
  • Work in collaboration with the Wells Teams, Fluids Specialists, drilling and completion fluid, cementing and waste management contractors to deliver safe and reliable wells
  • Manage producing and maintaining a Regional Technology Plan for Solids Control and Drilling Waste and implementing the technology to ensure first time successful deployment
  • Ensure the accuracy and content of the BP Field Fluids Design and verifying the quality of Contractor's documentation including Field Guidebooks, Fluid QA/QC procedures, well Programme and end of well documentation
  • Coach and mentor Regional Wells Teams and less senior Fluids Specialists and develop learning methods to improve fluids organizational capability
  • Manage Fluids Category contracts as CAM (Contract Accountable Manager)
  • Committed to build the capability of the Discipline through support to the BP Fluids Community of Practice and working groups developing standards, training methods and knowledge systems
  • Prepare technical scopes to support procurement processes
  • Review vendor Fluids Programs and documentation, verifying fluids design, technical content and engineering calculations
  • Maintain a projects and cost tracking documentation system

Essential education:
Min BSc degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related field

Essential experience and requirements:
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a broad range of operating regions, technologies and practices in Fluids
  • At least 10 years' experience in supervisory roles with both an operator and global Fluids service company
  • Proficient technical skills in line with the company's operating regions that include; wellbore stability, shale chemistry, formation damage, sand-faced completions, Extended Reach Drilling practices, multi-laterals, completion fluids, environmental awareness/regulatory compliance and remote operations
  • Efficient understanding of the cross-over to drilling and completion skills such as key fluid properties when operating in narrow pore pressure fracture gradient windows, laboratory validation testing requirements, hole cleaning practices and wellbore strengthening
  • Strong understanding of QHSE Management systems
