Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Site Reliability Engineer through February 25th, 2020 at 12:00a.m. (GMT-8).

The Site Reliability Engineer position will be a member of the Gulf of Mexico IT team in Covington, La. This position will interact with our Stakeholders, developers and infrastructure teams to help us in our digital transformation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Azure DevOps, programming and building CI/CD pipelines. This person will partner with other IT members to increase their skills and capabilities in this area.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Align efforts closely with Software Development and Infrastructure Stakeholders
  • Develop Automation in accordance with Chevron's CI/CD and Cloud Standards
  • Manage and maintain enterprise infrastructure tools as the primary subject matter expert
  • Act as a dedicated member of an Agile Infrastructure team
  • Align efforts closely with Software Development and Infrastructure Stakeholders
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Manage and maintain enterprise infrastructure tools as the primary subject matter expert
  • Resolve Development Roadblocks, automating where possible
  • Provide support and implementation of compliance and best practices


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Experience in an Agile Operations or Software Development environment
  • Experience with Cloud / SaaS Technologies
  • Experience working in an Agile Software workflow methodology
  • Experience using Source Control
  • Working understanding of Branching Strategy
  • Proficiency with Scripting Languages
  • Fluent English and high oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with various levels of professionals
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to act independently to drive IT goals and changes
  • Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention


Experience with these technologies a plus:



  • Ansible
  • Azure Cloud
  • Windows Server Administration
  • PowerShell and Windows Server Automation
  • Familiarity with Application Monitoring
