Our client an international downstream company is currently looking to fill the role of CFO.


The role reports to the MD .


Job Summary 

The Chief Finance Officer is responsible for planning, directing, controlling and providing accurate, reliable and timely financial information. He provides expert professional support and advice to managers and staff in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, including tax, credit & receivables management, pricing and planning.

He ensures adherence and compliance with corporate financial legislation, company policies and procedures, statutory requirements and financial reporting standards.



Manage accounting and financial systems and maintain full and accurate accounting records: approve journal accounting entries and ensure appropriate set up of all inflow entries from ERP system,
reconcile General Ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and reliability of
financial statements.

Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed financial reports and statements: ensure income statement, balance sheet, MBR, forecast and ad hoc reports are timely delivered.

Keep abreast of development in IFRS and their impacts on reporting activities in the financial statements.

Perform advanced professional work related to variety of planning assignments: Oil market demand and its pricing statistics overview review and projection.
Perform business intelligence studies from narrow to wider business environment.
Manages complex planning studies, development applications and reviews proposals from other departments.
Reviews and processes complex comprehensive plan amendments, rezoning's, annexations, site plans, plats.

Respond to auditors' comments (findings in the inquiries or transmittals) concerning finance and operations and oversee required actions to address deficiencies.
Ensure general ledger accounts are reconciled as per standard accounts reconciliation.
Ensure finance participate in the monthly physical stock count.

Diligent as required spot checks to assess and clarify situation.

Responsible for statutory tax compliance and implement all tax laws as applicable to PAYE, VAT, and withholding tax.

Ensure application of correct rate and timely remittance of amount due to the relevant tax

Facilitate personnel movement, succession planning and career development processes to recruit, develop and retain qualified and motivated Finance staff.


Educational Qualification& Experience

First Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or any other Management Science course.
Master's degree in Business Administration.
Professional certification in Accounting e.g. ACA or ACCAAt least ten (10) years' experience across Finance, accounting, planning and pricing,audit, internal control and compliance discipline including administration and benefit plan
and Employee development and organizational development. With at least five (5) years in a managerial role.
Experienced in the development and implementation of Finance and Accounting policies and procedures.
Good knowledge of ERP System (SAP, XERO, etc.).
