IT Manager - Qatar

Role purpose:

You will plan, develop and control all relevant computerized Information Technologies in accordance with the company strategy to meet present and long term requirements pertaining to:

- Information processing
- Telecommunications
- Office automation (where applicable)

key Accountabilities:

Develop, review and regularly update all relevant IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance to local and international requirements

Develop and maintain the Major Incident & Business Continuity plan inclusive of all departments/ projects, and implement measures designed to safeguard the IT Management needs of the company in the event of major incidents or disasters

Promote the effective use of IT facilities and ensure all existing and potential users are fully aware of the opportunities and facilities available to them

Ensure that operational systems are handled in an efficient and timely manner, continuing to meet objectives and satisfying user needs, ensuring compliance with related Company policies and procedures

Monitor international legal copyright requirements, ensuring QCON systems are fully compliant taking remedial action where necessary.

Provide and establish security measures for equipment and data, arranging for back up facilities so that the company is assured of a continuously available processing capability

Provide input during Project Implementation plan, ensuring all requirements within own discipline are accounted for and costs are accurately estimated

Lead the selection, development and motivation of professional staff, and ensure that they are competent and trained to ensure effective IT services are provided to support operational needs

Monitor the compliance of working procedures and systems, taking remedial action where necessary to ensure that the work of the staff is of a consistently acceptable standard.

Provide adequate training, guidance and technical direction to all staff within span of control to ensure that all working practices and processes are carried out as per Quality Management procedures


BSc in computer science or relevant engineering discipline
15 years' work experience to include 5 years' experience working as a Head/ Manager.
Experience using Manage Engine Products such as Manage Engine Service Desk Plus, AD Manager plus
Certifications in A+, Microsoft, ITIL, Server Administration or equivalent
Excellent technical knowledge in Telecom, Network, maintenance/ support or similar
Experience of leading the direction multi-discipline project teams
Detailed knowledge of technological developments relevant to QCON operations
Well-developed technical management skills
Excellent negotiation skills and cost awareness
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent communication skills, fluent in English and Arabic
Excellent planning and organizational skills
High level administration skills
