SUMMARY: Oil and Petroleum Inspectors visit client facilities, including bargesand ships, shore tanks, railcars, and tank trucks for quantity surveys of avariety of commodities including petroleum and petrochemicals inspection andcollects samples for laboratory analysis.
ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following: Other dutiesmay be assigned.
Receivesorders, obtains information, and gathers paperwork from OperationsSupervisor(s) on movements.
Ensuresthat all equipment is in good operating condition - calibration verification,correct and clean. This includes safety and monitoring equipmentappropriate to the job.
Reportsto job-site punctually and observes all Inspectorate applicable federal andstate regulations and standards, Terminal, Refinery, and/or vesselrequirements, including safety and measurement standards.
Attends"Key Meetings" with external personnel ashore and/or abroad. RepresentsInspectorate by appearance and conduct. Behaves ethically at all times.
Communicatesany problems, discrepancies, or other noteworthy incidents to the OperationsSupervisor and/or Dispatcher without delay.
Obtainssamples, gauges shore tanks, vessel(s), barge(s), railcar(s), and/or tanktruck(s) as specified per job order.
Labelssample containers with full and correct identifying data, including location ofsample, material, type of sample, safety information, time collected, etc.
Promptlyand accurately calculates quantities and completes all required paperwork anddistributes copies appropriately.
Promptlyand safely delivers samples to a Inspectorate laboratory for analysis or turnin for retain, or client facilities for analysis or retain.
Reviewsany discrepancies with Operations Supervisor, signs and returns job order form.
Maintainsa 24-hour on-call status. Supports and participates in Inspectorate'sBusiness Management System (BMS). Attends company meetings as required.
QUALIFICATIONREQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must beable to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATIONand/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education developmentcertificate (GED). Knowledge of company HS&E procedures andassociated governmental regulations.
LANGUAGESKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability towrite routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICALSKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units ofmeasure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONINGABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry outinstructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Ability todeal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES,LICENSE, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver's license required.
