Position Description:
We are currently seeking experienced qualified accountants to join our Operating Function Finance departments. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Financial Reporting & Compliance team responsible for accounting, compliance (IFRS), and assurance over function and field level financials that roll into segment results.

The role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the world's largest onshore and offshore fields and production facilities and to handle complex accounting and financial reporting processes in connection with this.
You will perform a broad range of responsibilities that include function/field level financial analysis and reporting to senior management, enhancing controls over key processes, as well as providing your subject matter expertise to support performance management and business planning processes.

Success in this role requires the ability to build effective networks, the courage to challenge the status quo and execute improvements while delivering timely, complete, and accurate financial reporting.

Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in a Business or Finance discipline.

Accounting professional designation (ACCA, CPA, CMA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent).

12 years of experience in the Finance and reporting related activities. Preferably, 5+ years of this experience will be in the Oil & Gas value chain.

Previous experience of all Operational functions, e.g., Production Operations, Drilling, Maintenance and Engineering, and Logistics, would be a plus

Previous experience in implementing financial controls and process improvements.

Solid understanding of IFRS in relation to Oil & Gas.

Ability to work with incomplete data and drive conclusions and recommendations to senior management.

Demonstrated ability to effectively coach and mentor junior staff.

Solid understanding of the R2R and P2P processes.

Working knowledge of SAP Finance Modules.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure function/field transactions and results are recorded and reported with integrity, transparency, and in a timely manner.

Actively participate on cost management initiatives to ensure cost optimization and unit cost goals are achieved.

Support timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.

Assist with preparation of the annual Operating and Capital Budget.

Identify and implement preventative and detective controls on key financial processes such as production, operating/capital expenditure, accruals, cost allocations, and DD&A.

Maintain Fixed Assets reporting including ensuring that depreciation is calculated accurately on a monthly basis, asset transfers, and retirements are processed in an accurate and timely manner.

Engage with Segment Financial Reporting and Compliance team to ensure proper recording of unusual transactions and compliance with reporting requirements.

Coordinate the quarterly impairment indicator review and submission process for each field.

Ensure timely and accurate recognition of provisions relating to environmental remediation, legal, and asset retirement obligations.

Challenge and question commercial views to ensure proper considerations, compliance and financial reporting requirements, and ensure best long-term outcomes.

Coordinate, maintain, and resolve outstanding audit exceptions for both internal and external auditing.
