NON-OPERATED OIL DEVELOPMENT
SR. PETROPHYSICAL ENGINEER
Primary Purpose of Job
To engage in planning, supervising, coordinating and controlling the collection, analysis and evaluation of petrophysical data necessary to predict the presence of hydrocarbons (oil & gas) in wells drilled, for calculations of oil and gas reserves and for reservoir studies in order to assist in formulating appropriate field development plans. Provides technical expertise and advice in the acquisition, analysis and interpretation of all petrophysical data for the PSA field, including open and cased hole log data, production logging, coring and core analysis. Participates in the establishment of reservoir full field development plans. Participates in preparation of production logging requirements for new and existing wells. Recommends additional requirements to support studies and drilling activities. Reviews analytical reports and evaluations relative to petrophysical well data by contractor and queries anomalies or non-standard parameters or methodology. Reviews and participates in the petrophysical contribution to field-wide hydrocarbon reservoir studies related to field performance and development. Reviews petrophysical input required for generation of reports, plots, graphs and data listing used in geological maps and reservoir models. Reviews and critically assesses those aspects of the sub-surface development plans and production policies (falling under his jurisdiction) submitted by contractor companies under EPSA/DPSA contracts.
B.Sc. in Science/ Engineering. Advanced degree would be an advantage.
Experience & Skills
At least 15 years varied industry experience in an operational environment with 1 to 2 years of wellsite experience and 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience. Be fully conversant and have working knowledge of all relevant software applications in his discipline. Additionally, a working understanding of the software used by the other disciplines in the team is required. Good knowledge of coring operation as well as core analysis - both routine and special (SCAL) analysis. Ability to integrate core and log data with other sub-surface information to support the team in constructing robust reservoir models.
