We are seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to work for a leading Oil & Gas Company in the UAE.
The position is a permanent staff role based from our client's office in Dubai and comes with a family status Expat package attached.
This role will see you performing cost estimating and cost control functions in support of a variety of projects. The position will see you play an active role in the monitoring of the progress of the project(s), and provide support to the business plan, budget, scheduling, analysis and reporting.
You will be developing/preparing the cost estimates, developing cost breakdown structures, assigning cost elements and allocating as necessary. The Cost Engineer role is required to prepare cost reports and monitor cost trends. You will be maintaining an individual project database, consolidating integrated scheduling for major projects and keeping stakeholders informed of milestones/issues.
Other aspects of the role will see you assist in the evaluation of engineering, construction and other contracts, prepare internal cost estimates for the variations to ensure they are aligned to the contract, be the custodian of the cost control / cost estimating process and assist the Finance Manager in preparing various presentations / reports etc.
We are looking for you to be degree qualified in either an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline, with a Project Management Professional (PMP) and / or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) accreditation.
You should have substantial prior experience in a similar role with project costing, scheduling, estimating and cost control functions. At least 5 years of this should be within an Oil & Gas environment.
It is important you have solid cost estimating and control guidelines experience with proficiency in Primavera, SAP/Oracle, Word, PowerPoint and Excel expected.
Ideally, we are looking for you to have held a role where you have been familiar with routine cost estimating methods (such as Quantity Surveying), MTO summaries, unit costing, factoring, contingency allotment and total cost validation by analogy.
It is expected you will have highly effective interpersonal skills, with excellent written and oral English communication skills. You should be able to show prior ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders, strong commercial acumen and strong analytical skills.
