KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
•Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans.
•Support project initiation efforts by contributing to proposals and tenders through development of presentations, pricing, contracts, and technical specifications.
•Develop and/or oversee project planning documents including but not limited to project execution plans, scope of work, project schedule, cost estimates and project budgets, risk management, and quality assurance.
•Direct and manage execution of assigned project team members for project components including engineers, project controls, contract administrators, inspectors, quality assurance, project specialists, and drilling operations. Ensure work is performed in a safe manner in all aspects of the project.
•Assumes active role in project interface through distribution of information and management of stakeholder expectations.
•Serve as a primary contact for communication between the client, contractors, and internal organizations by conveying technical, schedule, and financial information in a timely and professional manner.
•Review design from engineering contractors and vendors.
•Interfacing with the engineering departments to prepare drawings and material specifications in accordance with the plan.
•Responsible for weekly/daily meetings with PKD management and Client management, preparation of daily reports / weekly reports of the progress against the plan and highlight any problem areas.
•Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements.
•Assigns personnel (departments, contractors) to phases and elements.
•Reviews bids from contractors.
•Ability to actively participate in the following aspects of project lifecycle: FEED and design basis, material specification, shop testing, commissioning, startup, and maintenance.
•Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
•Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculates time requirements, sequences project elements.
•Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and updates from all involved parties and recommending actions,
•Maintains project database and ensure that all project shall be followed by full set of FRB and documentation packages according to PKD and Client requirements,
•Coordinate all major equipment design with other disciplines.
•Ensure adherence to corporate Integrated Management System and HSE policies and procedures.
•Help foster a positive and rewarding environment for the project team to effectively execute project objectives.
•Perform integrated change control through scope verification, quality monitoring, risk management, and contract administering.
•Close project or phase through customer/sponsor acceptance, closing procurements, archiving relevant project documents, and documenting lessons learned.
•Adequate field experience (Electrical & Automation) not less than 5 years.
•A bachelor's degree from an accredited university in related field, such as mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.
•Work experience for a drilling contractor or other related company with direct contact to the drilling industry managing field projects.
•Project Management Professional certification is considered a benefit, but not required.
•Should have at least five years of work experience managing projects ((Electrical & Automation part) and/or teams.
•Must be able to travel as directed.
POSITION SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
•Strong leadership quality, self-initiatives in project development, execution & monitoring
•Knowledge of related drilling equipment, layouts, operations, and rig crew functions.
•Knowledge of code requirements pertaining to the design, construction, safety, and operation of both land and offshore drilling rigs including but not limited to IEC, IEEE, ATEX, IECEx, API and other related industry standards.
•Experience planning project work flow of fabrication, installation and testing is strongly preferred.
•Knowledge and experience with rig and equipment testing and commissioning including systems integrated testing (SIT) and integrated acceptance testing (IAT) is preferred.
•Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other CAD design software is preferred.
•Must have strong PC skills including Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, Power Point, Project and Outlook.
•Experience on IEC 61131-3 languages.
•Basic knowledge of networking and firewalls
•Knowledge of industrial communication (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNET, etc.)
•Basic skills and experience on installation of automation components
•Basic knowledge of any kind of PLC (ABB, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, etc.) and programming tools (FBD, SFC, ST)
•Basic knowledge of SCADA/HMI principles
•Experience with DCS/SCADA/PLC
•Ability to specify instrumentation & controls elements and material
•Ability to program and test control and HMI logic
•Ability to inspect, verify and document instrumentation & controls field work quality.
