The Technician role is required to complete a variety of tasks ranging from mechanical fabrication, mechanical maintenance, system fault finding and supporting testing of products.The Technician will work closely with the engineers and team leaders to support a variety of formulated products testing. They may take ownership of test scheduling for assigned test programs, operate and maintain testing equipment, and where experience allows analyse test data and compile test reports. The role requires extensive interaction with a range of departmental stakeholders. Specifically engineering, operational and test services electrical teams. Customer engagement may also be required. The individual will be required install unique rig and engine test mechanical systems to agreed standard, timelines and liaising with members of the project team. The role will support rig and engine testing operations through build and disassembly, problem solving, maintenance and diagnostic skills. Where experience allows, the Technician may contribute to test results using metrology evaluation and reporting analysis, methods.This exciting Technician role in Pangbourne sits within our Product Testing & Engineering Team and reports into the Expert Team lead. Product Testing & Engineering has a wide variety of interactions that span the full product range of fuel and lubricant applications across the automotive, industrial, marine and energy sectors.

The successful applicant will work closely with the engineers and team leaders to support a variety of formulated products testing. We are looking for someone to take ownership of test scheduling for assigned test programs, operate and maintain testing equipment, and where experience allows analyse test data and compile test reports.

Key accountabilities include:

Managing test bed and rig installations and ensuring they are carried out to safety and quality standards
Maintenance of testing department mechanical systems
Conducting test programs to defined procedures and standards
Liaise with peers, stakeholders and team leaders to ensure the agreed project work is clearly communicated to facilitate milestone delivery
Acquisition and analysis of data
Report writing.

For this role are looking for someone with the following education and experience:

• NVQ L3 in engineering/science or equivalent experience
• HND / Degree in engineering/science or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of the installation and operation of test engines.
• Experience of engine test control systems.
• Experience of data acquisition and analysis of data.
• Knowledge of gasoline and diesel combustion processes.
• Knowledge of diesel and gasoline fuel delivery systems and operating strategies
