We market a broad range of products in 16 different product lines. Headquartered in San Ramon, Chevron Oronite is organized into three primary functions (Supply & Manufacturing, Sales, and Products & Technology) that operate globally across three major regions (Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe/Africa/Middle East).

The OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and Industry Liaison position is responsible for representing Oronite technology at heavy-duty OEMs in China and in China industry associations as part of the Automotive Engine Oil Products and Technology Team. The position reports to the Global OEM and Industry Liaison Manager.

Job Description:

The OEM and Industry Liaison for China holds primary responsibility for relationships with Passenger Car OEMs on Automotive Engine Oils and representing Oronite in key China industry associations. The role requires frequent travel primarily within China and occasionally to Europe, US or other regions. Frequency of travel will be impacted by the hiring location

Responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with OEMs in China per Oronite strategy
  • Develops OEM engagement strategies and execution plans
  • Identify OEM trends and industry drivers that may impact Oronite's technologies and products
  • Manage co-operation project with specific OEM
  • Negotiate product approvals with OEMs
  • Represent Oronite Technology at industry meetings
  • Understand and communicate the industry drivers for new additive technologies


Candidate Specification

The successful applicant will have a combination of technical and business knowledge and experience in the Automotive Lubricants market and/or at OEMs.

The successful applicant will likely have the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor Degree and preferably additional Master qualifications (Automotive, Technical or Business)
  • 5+ years' experience in lubes or fuels either in a Lube Company, at an OEM (HD or Passenger Cars) or Automotive Consultancy Company
  • Experience with Internal Combustion Engines is desirable
  • Experience with additives is desirable, but not essential
  • Experience in negotiation and influencing key decision makers
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Personal interest in Passenger Car or Heavy Duty truck developments
  • Working knowledge of English
  • Ability to work and build relationships with people within a wide scope of personalities and backgrounds
