What's the role?

The Trident Manning Manager's role is critical to the success of the Joint venture LNG shipping activities of Shell Australia. In this role, you will implement strategic goals and objectives of the ship manning organisation in support of ship management. This role will be expected to provide direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organisation's philosophy, mission, strategy and its annual goals and objectives as well as champion customers and stakeholder focus with challenging and competing priorities.

One of the key accountabilities of this role is to work strongly towards shore and shipping-based succession planning and the provision of a robust team structure. You will also be planning and directing the organisation's activities to achieve agreed targets and standards for financial and trading performance, quality, culture, legislative adherence and compliance.

You will play a vital role in maintaining and developing organisational culture, values and reputation in its markets with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory / official bodies; e.g. AMSA while also ensuring HSSE requirements and QA systems are in line with legislative and organisation requirements.
Also, you will be responsible for the oversight and management of employee maritime occupational health, rehabilitation and workers compensation management, including requirements.

Requirements

What we need from you

  • Demonstrated Industrial Relations experience especially with unions associated with maritime operations such as Maritime Union of Australia, Australian Maritime Officers Union and others
  • Demonstrated skills in delivering Enterprise Bargaining Agreement, discussions/consultation with relevant Maritime industrial partners, in line with relevant legislation, employment laws, regulations, practices and managerial authorities.
  • Proven track record of liaising with management and staff legal bodies (committees, labour unions) and their representatives to reach sustainable agreements.

Crucial to the success of this role is the ability to work collaboratively and lead effectively across multi-functional teams and interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, based in various locations, and being able to work autonomously.
