1.0 Responsibility and Authority:

1.1 To perform duties as detailed below.

1.2 To be aware of Quality Assurance in all daily work activities and to follow the rules of prevention.

1.3 Maintain a safe, clean efficient workplace adhering to all laboratory safety requirements. Must ensure that all safety infractions are addressed in a timely manner.

1.4 To report all non-conformities and problems to the Laboratory Supervisor.

1.5 To respect and protect company and client confidentiality at all times.

1.5 Comply with all health, safety, and quality management system requirements.

2.0 Principle Duties:

2.1 To perform a range of laboratory tests in accordance with internal procedures, GPA, API, ASTM standards.

2.2 To perform review and quality checks on laboratory data to ensure accurate results. If in doubt, to report any unusual or erroneous looking data to the Laboratory Supervisor.

2.3 To perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repair to laboratory equipment as and when required.

2.4 Perform appropriate instrument calibrations and follow quality control guidelines in concert with the QA/QC program that is utilized in the department to assure accurate analytical results.

2.5 To schedule, prioritize and plan work, including overtime if required, to ensure internal and external deadlines are met.

2.6 Perform special projects as required or requested by superiors.

2.7 To become familiar with the theory and calculations associated with all laboratory analyses performed.
