Seeking a Construction Cost Estimator with experience working both commercial and governmental projects. Representative experience should include projects of over one million dollars. Conceptual estimating experience a plus for this position. Candidate should be able to demonstrate using estimating software such as RS Means online platform among others. Candidate will be able to transfer data from spreadsheets to supplied cost templates. A proven communicator in both verbal and written form required. The ideal candidate must have exceptional interpersonal skills and be resourceful and able to work independently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.
  • Keeps up with trends in the marketplace and seeks out opportunities to improve technical knowledge thru seminars and publications.
  • Occasion travel may be required.
  • Proficient in estimating software such as RS Means online platform.
  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering data through the review of drawings, videography, specifications, and related documents.
  • Computes cost of labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Assemble and display numerical and descriptive information.
  • Prepare and present reports and analysis regarding trends in the marketplace.
  • Maintains company cost data base / library.
  • Protects operations by keeping company information confidential.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to client's needs.
  • Demonstrates BV's guiding principles in support of the company's strategic goals.
  • Follows all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of BV's quality standards.
  • Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • May be required to work overtime with prior authorization from supervisor.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work from remote location.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Preferred Bachelor's in Construction Management, Construction Science, or Architectural Engineering.
  • Five years plus of related experience required. Additional years of on the job experience will be considered in lieu of the education requirements.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Thorough knowledge of RS Means required

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Desired candidate will have completed or seeking AACE credentials.

Other Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work from a remote location
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Thorough knowledge of RS Means required
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with BV employees and customers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills including ability to perform multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent computer skills.

On-sites can occur up to one continuous week at a time, or typically at least one or two days per week. As a general expectation, for approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of the PM's time, travel and on-site work is anticipated and expected.
