We are looking for an enthusiastic junior counsel to provide support and assistance to Region LATAM counsels (except Brazil) in different legal matters (broad range of matters including contract negotiation, risks analysis, corporate formalities, regulatory and litigation matters). You will work directly with the three LATAM Region Counsels (located in Mexico, Colombia and Argentina respectively) to provide advice to the different BH businesses segments. Role may require some travel.
Provide legal assistance on corporate matters- Including updating corporate books, board of director and legal representative documentation, drafting granting and revoking power of attorneys, and creation of new entities, among other relevant corporate matters
Cooperate with Finance, Tax and different supporting areas for developing new corporate structures (mergers and acquisitions, rationalization of entities, investments and joint ventures)
Assist Region Counsel in the drafting, negotiation and risks assessment of oil and gas industry contracts and tenders- Including all contracts with International Oil companies, National Oil companies, and mainly third-party contracts and suppliers
Assist Region Counsel in providing legal support to different business areas for Baker Hughes; including drafting and legal review of contracts, templates and other documents
Assist Region Counsel and Compliance officers in compliance initiatives/training and execution of antibribery policies and conduct compliance investigations, if required.
Represent company's interests and interface directly with customers' counsel and negotiating contracts.
Provide legal assistance on labor matters and litigation and updating case management status (and invoicing/billing entry and support) in internal systems.
Academic credentials including a law degree in Mexico.
At least 2 years of legal experience as transactional, corporate or litigation attorney.
Strong communication skills and fluent in English and Spanish.
In house experience is a plus.
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in different situations.
Excellent organizational skills, considering the position is to support several regions.
Mexico City. The office is in Samara Shops (Santa Fe, Cuajimalpa). Job may require some national and international travelling.
