The Global Environmental Products (GEP) Project Manager will be an integral part of the GEP team supporting the Senior Project Manager in the management of carbon offset and biogas projects. This includes providing project and portfolio due diligence and technical risk management expertise for all future primary projects. The Project Manager will represent GEP on Group low carbon initiatives and be an integral part of the GEP Centre of Excellence for projects. The role reports to the Oil Americas Commercial Commodity ManagerProvide project and risk management expertise for all current GEP primary projects managing the global primary portfolioProvide an appropriate level of technical due diligence and project management expertise for all future primary projects and portfolios in new markets globallyProvide reliable single-source technical project updates, carbon offset program developments and technical risk development relating to the global GEP primary project portfolio both to GEP, IST and other BP teams where necessaryCommunicate progress, forecast (volume and dates), risks (quantified in terms of volume and value) and carbon credit invalidation via discussions with projects, consultants, audit firms or carbon program administrators to senior stakeholdersConduct site visits and attend verifications to manage key relationships and to enhance project risk awareness. Key Accountabilities
Provide project and risk management expertise for all current GEP primary projects managing the global primary portfolio
Provide an appropriate level of technical due diligence and project management expertise for all future primary projects and portfolios in new markets globally
Provide reliable single-source technical project updates, carbon offset program developments and technical risk development relating to the global GEP primary project portfolio both to GEP, IST and other BP teams where necessary

Essential Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Essential Experience and Job Requirements
  • Experience of managing environmental product projects and portfolios with accountability for volume forecasts, delivery forecasts and technical risk management
  • Carbon accounting including implementing environmental product projects, applying program and methodology requirements
  • Technical audit and assurance processes
  • Experience of working on project sites interacting with project developers, assurance firms, registries and operators
  • Strong commercial awareness and transactional understanding
  • Attention to detail, diligence and strong demonstration of BP's Values and Behaviours
  • Strong bias for action and communication
  • Strong personal time management capability to give all areas of accountability and responsibility appropriate priority
  • Desirable criteria & qualifications Knowledge and experience in multiple environmental product markets
  • Project experience (including site experience) from a wide range of environmental product project types (e.g. renewable generation, waste, forestry)
  • Experience of working with relevant standards (e.g. ISO carbon accounting standards)
