BP is looking for Electrical technician who will responsible for providing discipline specific technical support and operating and maintenance guidance to equipment and systems in operation prior to the GPO handover to GOO. All personnel joining the project will be recruited not just on their technical competency but also on the essential behaviours. The role forms part of the Major Project Operations (MPO) team with a view to either hand over the role or the successful candidate to transfer to the regional operations team around the time of ACE facility start-up. The role is initially based in Leatherhead, UK at KBRs offices and will then transition to one of the construction yards to the west of Baku for the period of early ops support and handover to the region Operations team.Responsibilities:
  • Provides day-to-day management of operational priorities to maintain integrity of the facility.
  • Ensures maintenance and provides testing of equipment as needed.
  • Monitors and records all key operational parameters.
  • Reports activities that could impact the safe operation of processes and/or systems, including potential process safety and operational optimisation issues.
  • Demonstrate HSE leadership within any team they are involved.
  • Maintaining and promoting a high safety culture when working in the construction phase
  • Develop and maintain discipline competence through CMAS and VTA
  • Support execution of CoW process through commissioning, HUC and start-up phases as PA/IA
  • Provide review of SOP procedures and participate in Project Commissioning/Start-Up as part of Operations Team or Commissioning Team as required
  • Support the development and testing of commissioning procedures, punch listing and handing over equipment
  • Support completions MC1 and handover process and take responsibility for systems handed over to Operations
  • Participate in the development of Preventive Maintenance Routines and maintenance procedure development, as well as input to spare part and tools identification
  • Complete walk down of all developed maintenance procedures to ensure the data entered into the CMMS is as accurate as possible.
  • Provide maintenance input to discipline specific technical design reviews focussing on efficient maintenance execution, operability, maintainability and human factors
  • Execute maintenance and preservation routines for equipment handed over to operations
  • Provide operations support in project document reviews

Essential qualification:
  • Tertiary/vocational education in technical discipline or other relevant qualifications

Essential job requirements:
  • Knowledge of permit to work, operations integrity, planning and risk assessments.
  • Experience in performance improvement programmes.
  • Experience in working with vendors and performance feedback.
  • Experience working in gas, oil or petrochemical processing plant.
  • Demonstrated ability troubleshooting within discipline
  • Willingness to work at heights or in confined areas
  • Ability to work in plant locations that may be remote (on/offshore) or require special transportation requirements (e.g. helicopter, marine vessels, rotational work, etc.).
  • Ability to successfully complete a fitness for duty assessment
