Role Summary:

As a Commercial Analyst located in Oklahoma City, you will work with the Technology Ventures team to launch new incubated commercial businesses in the energy industry. You will directly work with the Technology Venture as well as the incubated businesses, primarily the Inspection-as-a-Service and Reservoir Software-as-a-Service ventures.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Commercial Analyst will support the business across the full range of operational finance duties. The analyst is expected to maintain books and records in accordance with Baker Hughes guidelines and all pronouncements as appropriate, have a sound understanding of the balance sheet and P&L, and support business planning cycles.

This Commercial Analyst position will be part of a senior team working on technology, commercial, and customer-facing development projects, typically involving strategy development and implementation across several global teams.

In the role of Commercial Analyst, you will:
  • Perform project margin analysis by customer& by business segment; identify drivers for variances in as-sold vs as-executed margins
  • Perform Base/Variable cost analysis
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual ledger closing evolutions
  • Draft and record journal entries in Oracle, HFM, and Quickbooks
  • Perform quality account reconciliations and BS/P&L analysis
  • Support financial reporting rhythms
  • Work with auditors to satisfy audit data requests
  • Support inputs, data, and market analysis required financial planning
  • Complete cost recharges to other intercompany entities
  • Execute payments to vendors
  • Own HQ Data Request submissions and resolve edit checks working with HQ Controllership
  • Drive initiatives and projects to simplify the finance processes
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses as required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business and / or a "STEM" major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of finance or accounting experience, to include FP&A and/orP&L Management

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Travel up to 20%of the time, as required

Desired Characteristics:
  • Industrial / technology work experience of 10 years or more
  • Proficient written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated ability to develop technical requirements based upon proactive analysis of customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to work in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments
  • Experience in oil and gas industry and familiarity with unconventional oil & gas asset technologies
  • Experience in Oil & Gas Industry applications
  • Effective teaming and problem-solving abilities with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to think customer-first and effectively prioritize and pivot as required
