A hands-on technical role, working as part of the BPdataWorx Production Domain central team, you will be a Hydrocarbon Management and Fluids expert with a passion for data and a deep understanding of the Hydrocarbon Management value chain, from reservoir to export. You will be responsible for understanding the data requirements of Hydrocarbon Management stakeholders and ensuring the Production Domain, dataWorx and Digital Operations are providing appropriate data support.
  • Responsible for gathering the Hydrocarbon Management and Fluids (HM&F) data object and data type requirements working closely with data owners and SETAs
  • Responsible for identifying Functional data owners for each HM&F data object and data types and provide governance, working closely with data owners and the Production Domain Object Model team
  • Attend the global Hydrocarbon Management Function Table on behalf of the Production Domain and dataWorx
  • Act as Product Owner for the end-to-end Hydrocarbon Management data pipeline from source system to analytic platforms and ensure the ingested views and resulting data sets and objects are verified, optimised and appropriate for Upstream analytics, platforms and tools
  • Work closely with Discipline Leads to identify opportunities to streamline, simplify and automate regional data capture, well allocation and reconciliation and reporting processes
  • Wnsure apps, tools and techniques to QC, manage and maintain the quality of Hydrocarbon Management data are in place
  • Work with Digital and DataWorx stakeholders (Service Portfolio Owners and Managers), to ensure global technical support for Hydrocarbon Management data is appropriate, based on business requirements and that roles and responsibilities are clear
  • Help identify and develop strategic skills within the domain, to effectively manage Hydrocarbon Management and Fluid data from instrument through to system of insight
  • Manage Upstream stakeholder relationships with Digital and Technology, Finance, Operating Functions, other Functional teams and 3rd parties, and actively share knowledge and learnings
  • Evaluate and prioritise analytics and visualisation opportunities for Hydrocarbon Management and fluids and ensure high value opportunities are identified and either added into the Production domain backlog, or put forward for funding and entry to the Digital Factory
Required Skills
  • Demonstrable experience in one or more of the following - hydrocarbon management, petroleum engineering, production operations
  • Ability to build and manage senior stakeholder relationships essential
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the hydrocarbon management value chain essential
  • Able to listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret between them
  • Able to manage stakeholders' expectations and be flexible, is capable of proactive and reactive communication
  • Facilitates difficult discussions within the team or with diverse senior stakeholders
  • Proficient SQL and demonstrable experience working with relational databases
  • Ability to work effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals
  • Skill and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users
  • Happy working in a fast-paced changing environment and excited about change
  • Self-starter, team player and proactive approach essential
  • Experience working Agile methodology and Azure Dev/Ops
  • Understanding of big data platform architecture desireable
  • Strong communicator at the technical level and ability to affect change
  • Expertise with Energy Components desirable
