We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with project experience to join our Capital Program Management Division (CPMD), under Southern Area Oil Operations Technical Support Department.
CPMD direct and oversees capital project activities for Southern Area Oil Operations. The overall scope of the facilities covered by this division include but are not limited to: Design Basis Scoping Document (FEL-2), Project Proposal (FEL-3) and Detailed Design, Project Execution and Project Closure.
The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, MS is preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
You must have at least 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industries.
You should have experience in project management, design and construction of capital projects.
You should be able to demonstrate the ability to interface effectively with technical services, facility operation, engineering and construction contractors.
You must have a thorough mechanical knowledge of engineering practices and US Codes, Standards and Specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You are required to be able to perform the following:
Provide technical support to the company's business, supporting the design, construction and commissioning of new projects.
Execute capital projects according to the scope, schedule and budget.
Manage the project progress from design to construction and pre-commissioning including material procurement phase and issue/update monthly progress report in coordination with all concerned organizations.
Provide technical input from a mechanical aspect on the project deliverables from design to execution to ensure that the facility will meet the business/operations requirements and operate safely.
Identify potential inconsistencies between the drawings, specifications and standards.
Review drawings, specifications and calculations to ensure compliance with company codes & standards, procedures and policies.
Act as mechanical specialist to do thorough review on static equipment and piping.
Mentor less experienced engineer.
