Roles and responsibilities:

This role is responsible for fleet optimization to the Region. The ideal candidate will manage the Fleet Control and will deploy tools, deliver fleet plans and recommendations to the Region.

  • Optimize the replacement planning for the region fleet
  • Continue to centralize the planning and to streamline the purchasing of equipment
  • Liaison between operations, Global category manager, HSE and finance
  • Determine buy vs. lease vs. rent requirements with Operations, Sourcing and FP&A when applicable
  • Anticipate demand and coordinate with Sourcing to ensure proper lead time to avoid constraints
  • Communicate with operations as necessary on order confirmations and delivery
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics
  • In conjunction with Asset Systems and Indirect Sourcing, efficiently, accurately, and timely track equipment from cradle-to-grave, including in-service and disposal hierarchy, as well as equipment pooling and staging, monthly utilization for the region
  • Plan for the fleet of the future in order to meet company goals such as sustainability (e.g., alternate fuel vehicles) , delivery (e.g., small delivery vehicles), regulatory (e.g., CARB) while meeting vehicle availability, economic viability, and reliability requirements
  • Work with indirect sourcing in order to coordinate and track additional items such as graphics, lift gates, grille guards, etc., that are requested and in compliance with current polices
  • Suggest changes to the polices to improve cost control, always prioritizing safety in all the recommendations
  • Proactively propose fleet sharing or re-allocation between Product lines in the region following ONE Fleet strategy
  • Establish effective communication with Product Line Directors and their team, Sourcing, HSE for the region
  • Provide reports and analyze information regarding current fleet, utilization, proper cost allocation, and financial spending while providing visibility to facilitate the decision making process
  • Ensures fleet policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Advise corporate senior management on all aspects of fleet support operations
  • Interact with regional management at all levels on all aspects of fleet support operations
  • Possess strong technical and solid business analysis skills: in depth knowledge of current fleet management and maintenance related information technologies, systems and concepts and their application to the fleet
  • Performs duties and projects as assigned





  • Bachelor's Degree or 10 years equivalent work experience; MBA preferred
  • 5 years' experience in fleet planning, analytics, and technology
  • Strong Financial Acumen
  • Project Management certification (preferable)
  • SAP knowledge
  • Microsoft office suite strong knowledge
  • Ability to travel and work in other countries in a range from 25% to 40% of time; this can flex up or down pending the region and needs
  • Good oral and written communication skills with ability to clearly and concisely provide information
  • Ability to plan and carry out assigned projects, resolve conflict, and coordinate work with others
  • Manage toward strategic and tactical goals with continuous improvement
