Role Summary:

This role, based at Baker Hughes' in Houston, Texas, will lead a team of managerial and self-directed reports that oversee service and solution delivery via employees, staff augmentation and managed network services. This is a highly complex, global environment and experience with coordinating across teams and regions is necessary to achieve goals and manage expectations. Baker Hughes is currently engaged in significant transformational activities that involve creating new ways of doing business, applying ITIL methodologies and pursuing new technologies that result in next Gen IAM environment. Experience at being a 'change agent' and being comfortable with driving solutions is essential for success.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Sr Manager - Identity Access Management (IAM) Operations will have responsibility over all business operations within the IAM team and will oversee the operational support of our IAM tools. The IAM Operations Manager will also be responsible for planning and directing the day-to-day functional activities of assigned staff. Provides mentoring and management with direction and day to day leadership in technical areas. Assigned area(s) of responsibility are activities of moderate complexity and impact.
  • Expert knowledge and act as a subject matter expert on key principles of Identity and Access Management with an in-depth knowledge including Authentication and Authorization systems, Identity Lifecycle Management, and Identity Governance
  • Maintains working knowledge of directory systems (AD, Azure, LDAP), Privileged Account Management (PAM), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Federated Identities, VDS, Certificate Authorities, ADFS, DNS, and DHCP
  • Experience implementing modern authentication solutions leveraging SAML/OAuth/OIDC
  • Partners with IT development group and core business unit to develop and implement new systems and enhancements of existing systems and works with key stakeholders to solve complex problems
  • Manage SLA and provide opportunities for continuous process improvement opportunities and Maintains effective partnerships with teams, vendors, managers, leaders, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrates continuous learning and maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning resource plans with business objectives; overseeing the recruitment, selection, and development of talent; motivating teams; preparing individuals for growth opportunities and advancement
  • Develop roadmap to close the gap between current and future standards and industry best practices. Provide input to re-engineer IAM architectures as needed
  • Perform goal setting for the team and align toward company and Digital Technology goals
  • Work collaboratively within information security organization to assist in the detection and mitigation of security events. Conduct audit activities to ensure IAM operations meet security standards and compliance
  • Work collaboratively with other operations and Enterprise architecture groups to implement standards and best practices, designs and re-engineers network components as needed
  • Supports communications, change management and training processes relevant to system deployments
  • Develops and prepares budgets, project plans including scheduling, costs, resources, and other operational concerns


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of years of supervisory experience

Eligibility Requirements
  • Travel up to 10% of the time, as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum 15 years experience in Information Security and 10 years of experience in managing global IAM operations
  • Experience in IAM and Identity governance solutions namely AD, ADFS, LDAP, DNS, MFA, Savyint, Oracle, Microsoft Identity Manager, CyberArc, OKTA, AWS, Azure AD preferred
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to take highly technical information and present to all levels of management, technical staffs, and business/professional contacts
  • Preferred Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or other comparable security certification
  • Aptitude, experience and/or passion for the creation and execution of an enterprise-wide IAM environment
  • Ability to independently lead global teams in an operational and fast-paced project capacity
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
  • Demonstrated complex problem solving, technical analytical skills, time management and priority setting skills
  • Demonstrated program and budget management skills
