Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Production Manager to support Drilling Services in Houston, TX. The Production Manager demonstrates accountability for ensuring efficient, timely and cost effective manufacturing and delivery of high quality products, in a lean driven environment. The Production Manager will drive the strategic planning of the HTC DS Machine Shop and Electronic Assembly areas, will foster a culture of continuous improvement and will develop strong relationships at all levels of the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • The Production Manager will follow the overall vision for the plant, lead change, drive execution and maintain a culture that prioritizes safety, customer satisfaction, and the highest quality.
  • Direct all activities in the HTC Machine Shop and ultimately, the Electronic Production Assembly areas for Drilling Services.
  • Provide HSE leadership by driving 6S housekeeping, health & safety framework score improvement, training completion, audit item closure, and HSE culture
  • Drive on-time shipments, lead time improvements and inventory/SLOB reduction to meet/exceed annual KPI's
  • Drive Quality improvements across the entire plant
  • Deliver plant cost / hour goals
  • Assist in developing plant leadership and technical expertise
  • Promote the use of six sigma methodology in driving plant quality improvements
  • Utilize, lead, and support lean manufacturing methods to reduce cycle times and inventory levels
  • Drive digitization initiatives / brilliant factory improvements
  • Assist in developing the plant budget and control spending to budget levels
  • Assist in developing and executing capital investment plans
  • Assist in executing an effective communication plan for the facility


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years or manufacturing experience with 5+ years supervisory experience
  • Exposure to and participation in lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Experience with new Product/Technology Introductions
  • Six Sigma / Lean training
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to establish cross-functional connections within a matrix organization
  • Strong understanding of SAP preferred
