Role Summary:

The FPS RoW FP&A Leader will play a key role in supporting the growth and long term sustainability of the Newcastle flexible pipe business.

The focus of the candidate will be to forecast, challenge and drive the quarterly and annual results of the Offshore and Services lines of the business, using operational inputs from manufacturing, planning, project management and other business functions.

The role will report to the FPS RoW Finance Manager and will work closely with the FPS Global FP&A Leader and both the Site and Global FPS leadership teams. The role centres on providing data and meaningful analysis to support business decisions.

Essential Responsibilities:

The candidate will develop strong working relationships with a diverse range of both locally and remotely located colleagues from both financial and non-financial backgrounds.

A key responsibility is to prepare the QMI (Quick Market Information) each week, refreshing the latest estimate for the business. This involves:
  • obtaining and checking the functional inputs;
  • preparing and organising the analyses;
  • tracking and communicating meeting schedules;
  • summarising and reporting the quarterly and annual latest estimates;
  • identifying risks (and mitigating actions) and opportunities;


The candidate will play a key role in the quarterly closing process, coordinating and communicating the closing calendar. Working closely with the other members of the team, the candidate will identify any significant variances between actual and expected results and drive action to understand and address any differences.

The ability to self-manage a range of responsibilities within the team is key. As a key product line within the Oil Field Equipment segment, the reporting of periodic results must be completed by a non-negotiable deadline to allow meaningful and accurate reporting to the investors. In turn, it's essential that the candidate is extremely organised and can support the organisation of others.

Whilst there are several important regular, rhythmic responsibilities, much of the role is dynamic, requiring the candidate to anticipate, react and support key business initiatives. A key role of the finance department is to support the successful operation of the business, so the candidate should be flexible to this requirement alongside the core responsibilities of the role.

In this business environment, it is imperative to adapt, streamline and improve existing processes. The candidate is expected to identify these opportunities and drive meaningful change and support global standardisation of process in the business.

Ensure integrity is upheld throughout all processes and practices, by ensuring appropriate communication and prioritisation.

Support both regional and global teams as required, including the quarterly and annual planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar environment.

  • Strong analytical ability & leadership skills - able to clearly link operational drivers with financial results, generate alternatives and drive positive change
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Strong oral and written communication skills - experience in working across multiple levels (including senior management), functions and regions. Able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner
  • Independent self-starter, with strong influencing skills across business functions. Confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position.
  • Strong time management ability - able to effectively prioritise and manage a fluid workload
  • PC proficiency (particularly Microsoft Excel)


Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent financial experience
  • Certified / chartered accountant or working towards
  • Experience of Controllership or technical accounting
  • Experience in using Oracle ERP, HFM, Ess Base and BI reporting
