Job Title: QHSE Advisor 

Job Function:

Manage, maintain and participate in improving all quality, health & safety and environment (QHSE) related systems, processes and initiatives. Ensure company-wide policies and objectives are in place and visible. Manage ISO accreditation with relevant industry bodies. Advise the business on all QHSE related issues.

Reporting To: QHSSE Manager

Supervising: QHSE Coordinator, QC Inspectors

 

General QHSE duties:

  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment, report any accidents, near misses or safety concerns to their department manager or HSE committee member
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures and relevant work instructions/risk assessments
  • Promote and maintain good housekeeping standards in all areas of the company
  • Use and maintain appropriately all personal protective equipment supplied to employees by
  • Use all machinery and equipment safely and respectfully, reporting any defects or safety concerns to their department manager or HSE committee member
  • Undertake any internal or external training necessary as per their job function and responsibilities, detailed on the Training Record Summary
  • All staff have a responsibility to manage risk within their sphere of responsibility. It is a statutory duty to take reasonable care of their own safety and the safety of others who may be affected by acts or omissions

 

Specific HSE Responsibilities

  • Management of regular safety walkthroughs and observations
  • Assistance in Risk Assessment generation, review and revision
  • Assist with Internal Audits of QHSE procedures/processes
  • Assistance in investigation/closeout of quality / H & S or Environmental events
  • Management of safety-critical equipment and consumables
  • Facilitate QHSE meetings
  • Management of waste disposal
  • Correct disposal of waste
  • Improvement in recycling
  • Promote the correct use of PPE across the business
  • Provide assistance to Line Manager with the identification of training needs within the department

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and develop a Quality Management System (QMS), accredited to recognised bodies
  • Act on own initiative and manage and maintain all policies, procedures, processes, work instructions, and controlled documents.
  • Monitor QHSE related goals, objectives and targets
  • Monitor and report company KPI's and related trends
  • Effectively monitor Company customer satisfaction program
  • Actively advise managers and employees on all aspects of QHSE company policy and legislative requirements and support all QHSE related initiatives within the business
  • Overview of the distribution and control of all IMS Documentations
  • Implement and lead the audit program
  • Coordinate customer and supplier audits
  • Contribute to all group QHSE programs
  • Manage the reporting of non-conformance statistics and trends and suggest improvements
  • Manage, coach and develop the QC inspection team
  • Ensure inspection equipment is maintained within calibration requirements
  • Ensure QHSE Training and awareness is provided to all employees
  • Facility management requirements in Aberdeen

 

Additional job requirements:

  • Authority to stop unsafe acts or processes being conducted by staff, contractors or visitors
  • Additional hours, as required to meet task deadlines
  • UK travel for any QHSE related activities
  • Other duties, as directed by your Manager
  • Compliance with company directives

 

Qualifications / Experience:

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety - Essential
  • Environmental membership. EG: IEMA - Preferred                                                           
  • Quality membership. EG: CQI - Preferred                                                
  • Lead Auditor Qualification - Preferred                                                                  
  • Incident Investigation. EG: Kelvin Topset or equivalent - Preferred                         
  • API and ISO accreditation experience
  • Experience in a QHSE role
  • Oil & Gas   background
  • Good personal skills including verbal and written communication and demonstrate visible leadership
  • A self-starter with a flexible and dynamic approach
  • Open-minded and ability to constructively challenge
  • Proficient in the utilization of MS office suite.
