Role Summary:

This role will join the Digital Technology Tax & Accounting team and will be responsible for the planning, operational management and day-to-day execution of key projects for the Baker Hughes Tax and Accounting organizations. This individual will collaborate closely with the Tax and Accounting leadership team, business partners and other key stakeholders to drive the delivery of a wide variety of projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Sr. Technical Product Manager, you will:
  • Partner with technology / vendor providers to deliver solutions in the finance domain
  • Responsible for management of projects and vendor team(s) under his / her direction
  • Work with technical teams to deliver features and significant products that meet the function's needs
  • Demonstrate expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity
  • Engage frequently with the business teams and software delivery resources; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contributes to design activities and decisions
  • Conduct customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborate on business requirements
  • Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between the business, domain leaders and development teams
  • Demonstrates excellent business & Tax / Accounting domain acumen
  • Organize project teams comprising from internal and external technical and functional experts based on budget, scope and timeline
  • Manage day-to-day execution of multiple interdependent projects by working directly with global technical teams
  • Manage procurement and onboarding process
  • Manage project plan, risks / issues, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project
  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting at various levels of the organization including leadership and executives
  • Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations
  • Ensure lessons learned are collected
  • Perform initial and final financial reviews, and ensure ongoing budget tracking

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or Engineering from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with a minimum 7 years of IT technical experience and minimum 7 years of experience in Software Development Project Management including project and financial management leading cross-functional initiatives and / or large global projects)
  • Minimum 3 years of IT professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Software Development Project Management including project and financial management leading cross-functional initiatives and / or large global projects

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Travel up to 15% of the time, as required
  • Work out of an office in Houston, TX

Desired Characteristics:
  • Proven experience using project management methodologies to deliver business value and drive significant change across an organization
  • Experience managing budgets including budget, spend, and liquidations.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of various project and portfolio management methodologies with track record of implementing shared standards for large organizations
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence outcomes and organize teams to attain shared goals
  • Excellent influencing, interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organization
  • Self-starter - requires minimal direction to accomplish goals. Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities

Business Acumen:
  • Strong problem solving and demonstrated analytical skills
  • Experienced with agile/iterative project methodology such as Scrum, preferably with experience using agile project management tools such as JIRA or Rally

Leadership:
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity

Personal Attributes:
  • Able to work under minimal supervision, adaptive; agile approach to delivery
  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment
