Digital Technology is responsible for enterprise architecture and infrastructure development for cloud, data, IIoT, UX and cybersecurity across Platforms, career progression of the Software Technical Expert community and promotion of software tools and practices within Schlumberger, which includes our Norway Technology Center.

This position will be based in our Flow Assurance department where our mission is to create cloud services around our best in class flow simulators. These services are part of the larger DELFI initiative from Schlumberger. Schlumberger recently announced that it will open source its data ecosystem, which will become part of the Open Subsurface Data Universe (OSDU).

We are looking for you if you want to take part in an exciting, dynamic and international team, working with cloud technologies based on Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. Our services are written in Golang and Angular and deployed as containers using Kubernetes and Helm. Our team is empowered and responsible for developing, deploying, operating and keeping our services secure.

You should be comfortable working on both back-end and front-end tasks and collaborating with coworkers from all over the world both on-site and remote.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Works with subject matter experts to clarify requirements

  • Turns requirements and user stories into functionality

  • Develops server-side services to be elastically scalable and secure by design. services shall be backward and forward compatible to ease deployment

  • Develops web front end to be usable on multiple form factors

  • Ensures the solution is deployable, operable and secure by default

  • Applies usability procedures and principles as defined at project or product-line level or through customer input.


  • Bachelors (or equivalent industrial experiences) / Masters / PhD degree in science or engineering with software experience or education.

  • Cloud experience, preferably with GCP, AWS or Azure

  • Solid knowledge of Restfularchitecture and use cases

  • Knowledge /experience/awareness in maintainability and testing.

  • Basic knowledge of application networking and troubleshooting

  • Knowledge/experience/awareness in web application architecture development (dynamic component composition, data navigation and business processes)


  • Learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent time-management, multi-tasking, and communication skills. Capable of juggling multiple projects and related complexities at the same time.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Have a good understanding of latest technology trends for developing back end for Cloud applications

  • Work on a wide variety of tasks using emerging technologies
