Grade HThe Automation Engineer will report to the Director of Infrastructure for the Eagle Ford business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for configuring wellsite RTUs, ensuring communication back to the office, mapping points into Cygnet, and creating HMIs. In addition, this position will assist in the development of wellsite I/E designs and support facility commissioning activities.Job Synopsis
  • The Automation Engineer will report to the Director of Infrastructure for the Eagle Ford business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for configuring wellsite RTUs, ensuring communication back to the office, mapping points into Cygnet, and creating HMIs. In addition, this position will assist in the development of wellsite I/E designs and support facility commissioning activities.
Key Accountabilities
  • Oversee the development of wellsite facility I/E designs
  • Configure wellsite RTUs and PLCs
  • Configure radios and networking used for communication between field equipment and CygNet
  • Establish communication between RTUs/PLCs and CygNet
  • Develop wellsite and Cygnets HMI screens to operations requirements
  • Assist with the identification and onboarding of additional I/E construction contractors
  • Assist with the procurement of wellsite instrumentation and controls hardware
Essential Experience and Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of I/E and SCADA experience required
  • Ability to read P&IDs and cause and effect matrices
  • Ability to configure RTUs and PLCs
  • Commitment and proactive approach to HSEE
  • Able to prioritize work in a high activity environment
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience interfacing with development and operations teams
  • Strong bias for being proactive and getting results
Essential Education
  • BS in Electrical, computer science, or other relevant technical disciplines
