Job Role/Purpose

The roles primary responsibility is for the planning and maintenance of Test Equipment for successful manufacture of XT Product. Following site procedures to create maintenance schedules and working with the indirect supply base to maintain the equipment to avoid production delay. While identifying equipment needed for upcoming projects for the NPI - AME team and where needed creating new tooling with the support of the indirect supply base.

The successful candidate must be confident in computing systems and have a good knowledge of Machining, NDE practices, Pressure Testing and Torque practice. While also having a good knowledge on available industrial tooling used in assembly operations including Pressure Testing and Torque Equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with production teams to meet day-to-day, short-term and mid-term planning objectives
  • Resolve equipment availability issues through immediate action to maintain production
  • Follow closely project progress through production to react to any changes to test schedules
  • Maintain all tooling calibration and planned maintenance schedules to ensure continuity
  • Maintain a database of all test equipment and requirements to enable easy identification, planned maintenance and location management
  • Develop test equipment storage and management within the work locations to reduce lost time
  • Develop in house test equipment abilities to provide more efficient manufacturing methods
  • Provide the AME Team with test equipment needs to assist in providing T&A hours plus material for quotes at Bid Stage
  • Provide the AME Team with knowledge of available test equipment for successful project planning
  • Facilitate the manufacture of new test equipment in a timely manner for production start up


Test Equipment Planning:
  • Identification off needed test equipment for a Project to FATs
  • Communication of test equipment availability to production
  • Communication of test equipment availability and needs to AME - NPI for project start
  • Problem Solving of General Tooling and Test Equipment functions


Purchase replacement and new test equipment:
  • Identification of new tooling/ test equipment for best practice
  • Sourcing new tooling/ test equipment
  • Support Design off new test equipment


Test Equipment Maintenance:
  • Development off Maintenance Plans
  • Upload of Test Equipment Certificates and data to a central database
  • Maintenance of database data


Purchase services for test equipment maintenance:
  • Machining Practices
  • NDE Practices
  • Pressure Testing Equipment
  • Flushing Equipment
  • Torque Equipment
  • Rental Equipment


Qualifications/ Requirements
  • BSc or BEng in Mechanical, Maintenance, Manufacturing Systems or Industrial engineering (or suitable equivalent experience)
  • PC Literate and proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite incl. Word, Excel, Project, Visio
  • Relevant experience in GE\\VG (or equivalent) subsea products and testing equipment
  • Preferably time served with Operations or Manufacturing Back ground
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in fluent English


Desired Characteristics
  • Experience in planning
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Experience in ERP/ MRP Systems
  • Understand engineering Bills of materials, drawings and specifications
  • Understand internal/external Quality plans.
  • Understanding of machining, fabrication processes and NDE
  • Understanding of assembly / test operations incl. pressure testing and torque
  • Knowledgeable in industrial tooling
  • Experience following or developing maintenance plans
  • Experience in computerized maintenance databases and systems
  • Experience in Purchasing Systems
  • Must be self-motivated/disciplined and be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team and also work in a multi-disciplined environment
  • Experience or knowledge in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
  • Has the experience or expertise to solve technical problems
