Role Summary:

The Lead Project Manager will be responsible for the execution of projects in terms of the main contractual obligations: i.e. full compliance with contract scope of supply and agreed technical requirements, timely delivery and quality, as well as achievement of expected profitability. This role will serve as the main interface between the customer and Baker Hughes with great visibility inside and outside the company.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Play a proactive role in problem prevention during the Manufacturing life cycle
  • Develop and maintain a detailed project schedules considering availability of internal resources, project progress updates, and project integration requirements from customers and third-parties
  • Coordinate project input requirements, engineering evaluations and customer reviews of project deliverables consistent with project schedule and budget requirements
  • Procure supplemental engineering and licensing services as required
  • Manage project risk and planning for project contingencies
  • Manage project cost and project margin, including project forecasting and project reporting requirements
  • Manage project scope, including the preparation of project change requests to address changed or emergent scope
  • Lead customer kick-off meetings, project status meetings, GE site visits, customer project reviews and customer projects audits
  • Coordinate support for regulatory reviews of customer Performance Services license submittals and other Performance Services related deliverables
  • Assess customer satisfaction and Baker Hughes performance, including recommendations for corrective and preventive actions


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Management from an accredited university or college, OR a Technical Diploma (if two year diploma, then must have a minimum of 2 years project management or manufacturing experience in addition to the below experience requirements), OR a High School Diploma / GED and a minimum of 4 years of project management or manufacturing experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Manager (or Project Engineer if current Oil & Gas employee) involving the design, manufacture and installation of subsea multiplex drilling control systems
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in operating under and understanding Contractual Terms and Conditions

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally and often with short notice
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Working knowledge of relevant API
  • Customer Centric behavior; ability to deal with complex customers and meet specific requirements when needed
  • Strong team leadership and team building skills; able to effectively communicate with peers and supervisors
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Baker Hughes products and solutions
