Role Summary:

The Design Qualification Engineering Technician will be working as part of multidisciplinary teams developing state of the art technologies

Members of Reuter Stokes multidisciplinary teams apply experimental and computational methods to the development of new products for energy and security industries.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Design Qualification Engineering Technician, you will:
  • Work as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • This technical work involves multiple lab spaces, requires mastery of a variety of experimental techniques, and calls for the ability to focus on data analysis, procedure development, and report writing in between experimental set-ups
  • Assist engineers and scientists with advanced R&D on new sensing and inspection products
  • With other team members, design fixtures and develop procedures for thermal, mechanical, and electrical testing
  • With team leader direction and oversight, perform thermal, mechanical, and electrical testing and data analysis using a variety of techniques
  • Support all phases of new product development, including design, prototype testing, new product qualification, documentation, transfer to manufacturing.
  • Validate methods, troubleshoot and repair instrumentation
  • Provide requested input for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Interface with other teams on common projects including sustaining engineering and RMAs
  • Interface with supply chain in making various purchases
  • Maintain a well-organized and safe laboratory area, complying with all relevant ES&H requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university (OR High School / GED from and accredited school or institution with a minimum 7 years of experience in an engineering support and/or engineering related role within an industrial environment)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering support and/or engineering related role within an industrial environment

Desired Characteristics:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in an engineering support and/or engineering related role within an industrial environment
  • Technical experience in nuclear physics or radiation detection is highly desirable
  • Experience or familiarity in CAD drawings
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW programming
  • Experience developing analytical procedures
  • Specialized training or experience in engineering fundamentals
  • Experience in computer-based data manipulation and programming
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and self-motivate in a technical environment
  • Experience assembling electrical and electronic systems and prototype according to engineering data and principles
  • Experience modifying electrical prototypes, parts, and assemblies
  • Interest/experience in engineering fundamentals.
  • Interest/experience in thermal, mechanical, and electrical measuring techniques
  • Interest/experience in equipment maintenance and trouble-shooting
  • Demonstrated ability to keep accurate, careful records of experiments, data collection, and analyses
  • Ability to carry out repetitive tasks for various tests
  • Ability to handle small, fragile parts and to perform highly detailed tasks demonstrating a high level of attention to detail
  • Proficiency with hand tools, mechanical equipment systems, and laboratory equipment and instrumentation
  • Demonstrated experience working to a set of defined requirements and regulations
  • Ability to multi-task and accommodate a complex work environment
  • Knowledge in computers and software applications that include file management, word-processing, data manipulation, and spreadsheet usage
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of personnel and customers; strong teaming skills and self-motivation
  • Demonstrate an ability to be proactive and work under minimal supervision
