Role Summary

The responsibility of this position is supporting Polyflow Onshore spoolable pipe products (Thermoflex and Thermoflex Lite) through development, qualification testing and project deployment of mechanical end connections - that are metallic (coated or CRA) and swaged onto a non-metallic pipe. This role will manage the design of a range of next-generation end fittings, include the optimization of the design methodology and the field-application equipment for swaging these.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Conduct all aspects of engineering analysis and design of Polyflow coupling and end fittings
  • Maintain full understanding of the analysis and design of Polyflow Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe
  • Develop and document coupling and end fitting design methodology, including development of in-house design software
  • Prepare customer-ready reports including design premise, design, and analysis reports using report templates documenting the result of engineering and analysis work to customer
  • Prepare documentation and drawings providing instructions to manufacturing and procurement for pipe/end fitting/ancillary equipment/packaging
  • Prepare Bills of Material and implement engineering change notices as needed
  • Represent Baker Hughes in meetings with customers and participate in technical qualification meetings
  • Conduct product qualification in accordance with industry standards, including API 15S and other relevant standards


Qualifications/Requirements
  • MSc in Mechanical, Structural or other relevant Engineering or science discipline.
  • Minimum 5-year relative experience required, flexible pipe experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Finite Element analysis software (ABAQUS/ANSYS or equivalent software)
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks
  • Presentation skills
  • Travel up to 20% is required
