We are looking forward to hiring a talented HSE leader for our Trinidad & Tobago (TT) Repair Shop & Field Services team based in Point Fortin, TT. As the TPS TT Repair Shop & Services HSE Leader, you will provide direction and assistance for the work group in order to meet assigned project objectives. You will partner with and act as a coach for the Point Fortin team to reduce and manage risks associated with operations, resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning and support actions that strengthen an interdependent HSE culture.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Repair Shop & Field Service HSE Leader, you will:
  • Develop and implement HSE programs and processes including, but not limited to emergency preparedness, safety risk assessments and safe working procedures, hazardous waste management, H&S training, ergonomics, contractor safety, security access control and crisis management for both TPS repair shop and field service activities
  • Act as the local subject matter expert on HSE topics by providing input to the Field Services HSE region leader, the Point Fortin contract performance manager (CPM) and/or the services manager
  • Partner with the site Leadership Team to drive a sense of shared accountability and continuous improvement in the HSE performance and culture by integrating HSE in business decisions, management system and everything they do
  • Prepare and report-out on key metrics such as I&I rate, concern reporting, STOP work, environmental KPI's
  • Assist TPS functional teams in implementation of HSE programs and procedures that ensure compliance related to specific disciplines
  • Work with the Installation and Project teams to review HSE / Security status of customer projects to ensure a compliant, safe and secure site is ready prior to starting a job
  • Develop and maintain general knowledge of existing and proposed local regulations
  • Responsible for identification and timely submission of all applicable HSE permits (to include environmental / operating permits)
  • Induct and train BH employees, contractors and service providers in basic HSE awareness and Baker Hughes / local rules, to include customer required training
  • Maintain record keeping as required for recurring training needs
  • Establish injury prevention programs focused on world-class health and safety performance
  • Assist in HSE issue resolutions and incident investigations as needed

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with a minimum 7 years of experience in implementing HSE systems in a service, repair and/or construction environment)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in implementing HSE systems in a service, repair and/or construction environment

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Travel up to 15% of the time, as required

Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management, Occupational Safety or related field from an accredited university or college
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of and practice using human and organizational performance (HOP) principles
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside BAKER HUGHES (regulatory agencies)
  • Demonstrated experience working with customer representatives
  • Ability to influence and motivate employees, supervisors, management and contractors to meet BAKER HUGHES HSE expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
