Role summary:

The Germany controller, reporting to the Waygate Inspections Controller, will be responsible for controllership of our German entities, driving a clean balance sheet and avoiding any compliance issues.

Essential responsibilities:
  • Drive closure/resolution of compliance issues (Ongoing VAT vs Intrastat differences which led to government investigation and fines)
  • Track resolution of unreconciled accounts
  • GOF KPI follow up (Aged open items, GRNI clean up, Intercompany open balances clean up)
  • Dashboard review
  • Closing support and accruals
  • BS review support
  • Day to day Ad hoc controllership requests
  • Own and improve Film Australia/New Zealand process
  • High risk account follow up (ECA, Unbilled AR, deferred charges ...) - Drive resolution by engaging Project Management.
  • Ensure smooth communications with different Global Finance teams all around the world (Budapest, Kuala Lumpur, Accenture)
  • Partner with Site Finance management to ensure accounting policies are followed and compliance is assured

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited College or University
  • Strong finance experience
  • Work involves independent judgment, decision making, creativity and initiative
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Clear thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to easily describe issues and propose resolutions

Desired Characteristics:
  • Qualified Accountant : ACA / ACCA / ACMA / CPA, is a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Advanced Excel user
  • Team player
  • Fluent English
