Role Summary:

The Lead Engineer - Technical Publications for Drilling Engineering formalizes engineering documentation for product, component and modules. Ensures all technical requirements are met. Converts functional specifications into stories and work units to define product criteria, demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the tools used to create technical publications that enable fulfillment of business objectives and sales orders
  • Maintains historical and forecasted demand/capacity for assigned team members and deliverables, driving balance in order to deliver with high quality on time
  • Ensures team delivery of manuals/documentation in support of flow, projects, and fleet support by tracking project schedules and resolving resource prioritization conflicts
  • Continuously improves standards in cooperation with the technical writers
  • Identifies and mitigates gaps in existing documentation/manuals
  • Performs quality audits on manuals/documentation
  • Monitors and effectively communicates project status, business issues, and significant developments to business leadership
  • Responsible for managing and tracking Engineering Bulletin deployment activities
  • Provides technical oversight and guidance on service-related technical publication activities for the installed fleet within the Drilling Services platform
  • Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale
  • Lead as a presenter or reviewer in technical or program reviews
  • Develops and simplify existing engineering work instructions and procedures as related to technical publications
  • Interfaces with cross-functional stakeholders as related to web-based customer interface tool programs and fulfillment of deliverables
  • Develop and assist in creating global technical documentation for inspection and repair activities
  • Provide technical documentation support for both internal and external customers on service-related issues


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Oil & Gas Equipment experience
