Responsible for providing advanced technical expertise to deliver technical and/or commercial support services, ensuring the effective application of high-end technical skills to key business priorities, supporting associated technology development and deployment, driving incident resolution, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities, whilst ensuring processes and procedures align with internal and external requirements.
  • Support Analytical Manger and/or project lead in Laboratory Special Projects
  • Assist with the analysis workload - routine testing and investigational analysis
  • Support and Assist the team in implementing and maintaining Quality Control Charts in all equipment's in the laboratory.
  • Instrument and test analysis troubleshooting
  • Provide Technical Assistant and Couching to laboratory staff.
  • Training of New staff, on new test methods and continuous work monitoring of all laboratory staff members.
  • Continuous review and verifying of results generated by laboratory staff.
  • Support the Analytical Manager in ensuring that all laboratory and site documentation including operating procedures, risk assessments, permit to work are maintained up to date.
  • Drawing up and reviewing Local Operating Procedures
  • Conduct inspections, internal audits, and/or gap assessments to determine compliance to HSSE, Quality and BP Operational standards or practices.
  • Issuing of control of work
  • Increasing of Scope of analysis. Implementing new test analysis in the laboratory to better support the business.
  • Method Validations are implemented and up to date for all methods in use in the laboratory, work with the Analytical Technologist
  • Work alongside the Analytical Manager and Analytical Technologist in evaluating the need and purchasing of new analytical Equipment.
  • Support the implementation of annual HSSE/OMS plan for the GFT Technology Centre.
  • Ensure CTM related tasks are conducted allowing Safety Critical Equipment to be tested, inspected and maintained.
  • Ensure compliance to the Laboratory Quality Management System, which is based on the ISO 17025 standard.
  • Support Analytical Manager in the Extension of iso 17025 Scope of accreditation
  • Ensure ASTM/IP test methods used are up to date and communicated to staff when changes take place.
  • OMS sub-element champion
  • Prepare educational or informative technical bulletins for the business and contribute to newsletter articles.
  • Support Analytical Technologist to Prioritize work across the whole customer-base, taking into account both business and strategic importance. Flexibility of response to changing priorities is important.
  • Support Analytical Manager and Analytical Technologist to Turn's customer or business demands into practical solutions. This requires a good experience of products, end user applications and analysis techniques.
  • Continuously seek to improve operational efficiency, adopting best practice as appropriate.
  • Conduct investigations for HSSE and/or Quality related incidents to determine root cause and corrective action.
  • Ensure continuous participation, compliance and increase analysis participation to all proficiency correlation programs, MAPS, SABS Water check and ICPMS, review results before submitting and submit corrective action report for any non-complying results.
  • Stock taking, replenishing. Purchasing, Receipting and Procurement - Fraxion, ISP and OTPS systems.
